Biography
Vagheesh Narasimhan is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Integrative Biology as well as Statistics and Data Science at The University of Texas at Austin. After an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering (computer vision and information theory) he completed a Masters in Biostatistics at Harvard under Curtis Huttenhower. He received his Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Cambridge advised by Richard Durbin and Chris Tyler-Smith and later was post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Genetics, Harvard Medical School with David Reich and Nick Patterson.
Research
Narasimhan is interested in problems at the intersection of genomics, computer science and statistics.
