As mentioned in our History of UT Entomology series, biology was not part of the curriculum when UT opened its doors in 1883. However, the Board of Regents voted the School of Biology into existence in 1981. Since then, hereptology has come into its own by becoming an area of significant research and a continually expanding Collections.
