Summer 2016 Department Updates

Thanks to the investment of time, talent, and treasure by many, the Department of Integrative Biology continues to be a leader in science education and research. As a stakeholder in our success, I hope you will consider renewing your investment in our department by making a gift to the Integrative Biology Annual Fund. We need your help—giving from alumni, parents, and friends allows us to pursue strategic initiatives and to support our faculty and students in their education and research endeavors. Renew your commitment to UT Integrative Biology now.

This spring, we have many reasons to celebrate. Our long-time faculty member Jim Bull was elected into the National Academy of Sciences, and our faculty member Nancy Moran, herself a member of the National Academy of Sciences, received the Lifetime Contribution Award by the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution. Our graduating class of biology students was the largest ever, with an increased number of students graduating on time. These points illustrate how our continued efforts to integrate and improve teaching and research bear fruit. Please enjoy some of the exciting stories below that highlight how our department is making strides thanks to your support and advocacy.
