I am a 1st year Master's student in Plant Biology at the University of Texas. I received my B.S in Botany in 2012 at King Saud University Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I was a teaching assictance at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University from 2013 -2014 in alkharj, Saudi Arabia. PSAU gave me a scholership to finish my advanced studies in Plant Biology from 2015-2018 including learing English language in US. I am working in Dr. Jensan lab. I am extreamely interested in generating genomic resources for utilities of toxic plant for medicine purpose. I am working on Euphorbia schimperi which is a toxic plant that is known to produce secondary compounds that are effective against breast and brain cancers. I am going to determine the genes involved in the biosynthetic pathways that are responsible for producing Euphorbia schemperi’s anticancer compounds. That will help assess evolutionary relationships and in establishing medicinal applications.
