Inventory Procedure
The University is required to perform inventory on a yearly basis, which means departments have to locate and account for all equipment with a UT inventory tag. Therefore, please adhere to the following rules when discarding items:
- Before you discard any instrument/equipment, please contact IB Inventory with your building and room number to allow for the appropriate disposal process to be initiated.
- If you are retiring a computer, please submit a help request to the CNS Help Desk to allow CNS IT to remove the hard drive only! Keep the rest of the computer components and contact IB Inventory so that the computer can be removed from Integrative Biology's inventory list and discarded through Surplus Properties.
- If instruments/equipment have to be decontaminated, please have them cleared by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
